Born from the communities we serve.

Action Sports Safety Project is a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation founded in California in 2026. Our mission is simple: to make sure your riding buddy is ready to help when the worst happens.

Our mission

We fund tuition grants for medical certifications and run on-site response training at action sports community events. Every grant and every clinic targets the same outcome: a trained immediate responder closer to the next serious crash.

Origin

The action sports community is full of people whose first instinct is to help. What is missing is access to the medical training that turns instinct into competence. We started Action Sports Safety Project because the gap between "wants to help" and "knows what to do" is a gap we can fix.

We are based in California. Our founding board pairs lifelong skaters, climbers, and riders with practicing medical professionals. We meet quarterly, review grants monthly, and report annually.

What we believe

  • Professional help takes time to arrive. Training our community for those critical first minutes is how we protect our own.
  • Money should land on a tuition invoice, not on overhead. Every dollar tracks to a fixed unit cost we already know.
  • Communities know their own gaps. We pay for what people request, not what we assume they need.
  • Reporting should be light. A certificate and a paragraph. That is the whole post-grant requirement.

Governance

Action Sports Safety Project is a California public benefit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our annual Form 990 will be made public following the conclusion of our first full operating year.

Our board serves without compensation. No officer, director, or family member receives salary, contractor payments, or grants from the organization.

Built by people who know the sports and the medicine.

Our founding board pairs a lifetime of action sports experience with trusted medical advisors. Every grant and event bridges the gap between those who live the sport and those who know the medicine.
